Baker Hughes: Weekly US Gas Rig Count Declines To 777

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--The number of natural gas drilling rigs working in the U.S. fell by 3 in the latest week, to 777, oil-field-services company Baker Hughes Inc. (BHI) said Friday.

The gas rig count was down 136 from a year ago.

The oil-rig count rose by 2 to 1,225, setting a fresh high on company records back to July 1997. The number of working oil rigs was up 416 from a year ago.
