Valero says Quebec FCC out several weeks

Feb 08, 2010

NEW YORK, Feb 8 (Reuters) - Valero Energy Corp (VLO.N) said Monday the outage of a fire-damaged gasoline-producing fluid catalytic cracker unit at its 265,000 barrel-per-day Quebec City refiner will last several weeks.

"Valero has determined that the outage at the Quebec refinery FCC will last several weeks," Steve Lee, a company spokesman, said in a statement.

"However, we anticipate no major disruption to our customers because other units at the refinery are still producing fuel, and there is sufficient supply in inventory to meet demand while repairs are under way," Lee added.
